Craig Thompson Eventing is based in Aiken, SC. We are in the process
of building a permanent home, ShadowLane Farm. The farm features:
12 spacious stalls complete with rubber mats, automaticwaterers, and
industrial wall mounted fans
- 3 wash stalls with hot and cold water
- Separate feed room, hay storage, laundry room, kitchenette and bathroom, private tack room for boarders/students
- Brand new, two bedroom working student and staff apartment over the barn
- 6 large fields and 3 small paddocks for turnout
- Large sand arena
- Jump field complete with ditches, bank, water jump, permanent and portable cross country jumps as well as showjumps

Craig Thompson Eventing is lucky to have Lisa Malek and Heather Carberry on staff. Heather's expertise keeps the barn running smoothly.
Lisa brings a great deal of experience both in and out of the saddle, having competed successfully through the CCI** level and is currently bringing along her own lovely 5-year-old Finn, pictured at right.
Additionally, during the summer of 2008 we have three amazing working students - Kate Lokey, Miranda Nelson and Jody Romeo. Positions for the fall are available ~ please Contact Us for more information.
Working Student Opportunities
Craig Thompson Eventing takes on part-time and full-time working
students. Being a working student is a great way to learn a lot quickly.
Craig got his start in eventing as a working student for Sally
O'Connor, David's mom, and Wash Bishop, who trained many top young
riders at the time. Riders considering being a working student
should begin by downloading the Working Student Application and
are encouraged to come for lessons or a week long stay to get
a feel for the position.
- Part-time working students must commit a minimum of two months. The fees associated include $25/day for board and $300/month for on-site housing, plus utilities. These students work six hours daily, six days per week.
- Full-time working students must commit a minimum of four months. The board for a full-time working student is $17.50/day. Housing for full-time students costs $240/month plus utilities. These students work full-time six days a week.
